Tips for Dealing with Morning Sickness

Tips for Dealing with Morning Sickness

Guess what?!

I am FINALLY nausea-free! I know morning sickness is different for every mama and I am the perfect example of that. I had zero morning sickness with Ava and with this little man, I felt sick non-stop, morning and night all the way up until 14 weeks of pregnancy. And then one day, it was just gone and thank goodness for that!

I am finally back to playing with Ava, getting work done and it really just feels nice to be able to get up off the couch and actually give my baby girl some attention.

So now that the nausea is gone, I wanted to share with you some tricks for getting rid of morning sickness. And when I mean getting rid of, I mean subsiding those symptoms…because I’m pretty sure there’s no magic want to making it disappear. But we can wish!

Here’s what worked for me:

  • Bland Carbs — pastas and toast and rice and chicken noodle soup (without the chicken)

  • Constant Eating — Hello weight gain! Every time I stopped eating, I felt sick again but while I was eating, I felt great. So I snacked pretty constantly those 14 weeks.

  • Doing Things — I know it’s the last thing you want to do and sometimes you feel like you literally cannot get up off the couch but let me tell you, when I got up and did things (light things like sitting on the floor playing with Ava), it totally just took my mind off the nausea and made those symptoms better.

  • Water with Lemon — I have no clue why this is but plain water made me so much more sick. Like terrible. But adding lemon worked wonders for me!

So try it out and see if any of that works for you!

Also, someone told me that Vitamin B6 works wonders. I Googled it and apparently it’s true. So give it a try — It can’t hurt! …unless it makes you feel nauseous, that is.
