My 5 Favorite Fashion Trends

I'd like to think I'm a pretty fashionable mama but if I'm being honest, I know absolutely, positively nothing about fashion. Like real fashion. Basically, I see something that looks great on Instagram and I buy it. Because if it looks great on her, it'll look great on me too, right? Hah! I like to think so.

So before you browse through any of this, just know that these are my personal favorite current fashion trends, not necessarily THE one and only fashion trends right now.

Because here's the thing: You do you.

1. Ripped Jeans

I was putting my laundry away the other day and realized, I don't own a single pair of jeans that aren't ripped. Well, I own some but none that I really love. And it's because I totally love the ripped jean trend. And even better? White ripped jeans.

2. Kimonos

I LOVE kimonos. Kimonos, kimonos, kimonos all day every day. You know what's so great? You can dress them up, dress them down, throw them over a super basic long sleeved shirt or even an old tank. And here are two of my favorite velvet kimonos from Scatto Clothing:

3. Velvet

Some of you may hate it but I LOVE it! My 1990's, velvet scrunchie-loving child inside of me is so glad the trend is back! Ava's got velvet dresses and velvet bows (pictured below) and I've got velvet tops and now, velvet kimonos that are oh-so-gorgeous. So basically, it's the best of both worlds right here!

4. Fur + Feathers

Texture, texture, texture. You know, I never thought I'd be able to rock textures like fur and feathers but I went for it and I rocked it and I'm going to rock it until it goes out of trend and I find something new I love. But currently, fur vests and feathered skirts are my jam.

5. Leather

I've been wearing leather jackets even when they weren't in trend (tooting my own horn, much?) but they're totally my favorite go-to for a night out during the fall or winter. You know those instances when a cardigan is too light or just too casual and a full coat is too warm or just too much? Leather jacket to the rescue!

And this one of my new favorite because it's light (you can actually move your arms while wearing it....which is totally not normal for leather) and the details are just gorge and make it look totally trendy.
