Ava's First Birthday Party | A Vintage Pi Day Themed 1st Birthday

It seemed like just yesterday that I was writing Ava’s birth story and here we are with a one year old. I am so beyond excited to finally show off all of the fun details of Ava's First Birthday party! If you didn't already see the backstory on her birthday party, here it is:

Ava was born on Pi Day - 3.14 - so to go along with that theme, we did a pi and pie themed birthday party with vintage chic party decor. Her first birthday invitations were full of pi and math symbols and instead of doing a first birthday cake smash, we had to stick with the theme and do a pie smash. Well...we gave her an entire pie to do a pie smash but she didn't want to have anything to do with it. So instead, we got some pretty hilarious photos of that attempt.

We set up a gorgeous vintage pie bar with seven different flavors of pie and of course, what would a party be without a vintage mimosa bar? We had guests fill out birthday mad libs where they included a letter to Ava at the end. Those letters will all be given to her on her 18th birthday so get ready for some mama waterworks that day! We didn't read any of the letters - they're all saved for Ava's eyes only :)
