My Love for Watermelon (+ 3 Watermelon Smoothie Recipes)

See this content in the original post

Last week I talked all about staying hydrated and how it was something I am really working on bringing into my life because...you know...heat waves and 110 degree weather is going on here in Southern California and I need some extra hydration these days. I'll just flat out say it -- I don't like water. So I put together a list of tips for drinking more water but you guessed it, every tip includes water itself. And then I realized there's an amazing tip for staying hydrated that's delicious and nutritious and just straight brilliant.

Watermelon.

Yep, watermelon is the best hydration tip out there besides water itself and even better, it's the best value in the produce section at only 17 cents per serving (*2017 Watermelon Purchase Survey, conducted by MyPoints.com. Inc, August 2007). Delicious and nutritious and hello amazing skin. That's what hydration has done for me in just a couple of weeks and it's my new favorite skin care tip.

Watermelon is the perfect on the go fruit for yourself and for the kids -- in the car snacks, at the beach lunch, smoothies to bring with you on play dates or wherever this summer may take you! Heck, watermelon is available year round unlike most other fruits so it's not just a summer fruit. And fun fact: the entire watermelon is edible...who knew?
