27 Things to ask your kids instead of "How was school?"
I’ve been meaning to do a post on Ava’s first day of preschool but since we’re over a month into the school year, it seems a bit late at this point. Long story short: I bawled my eyes out in the classroom dropping her off on the first day of school and she didn’t even want to say goodbye because she was so excited to “play with her friends.” So yeah — apparently school and way more cool than mom. The phrase “too cool for school” doesn’t play a role in this little girl’s life because she is school obsessed, to say the least.
But here’s thing one thing that’s driving me nuts:
Every day after school I ask Ava “How was school? What did you do today?” And she has one answer and one answer alone.
'“Play with friends!”
You’d better bed I’m stoked that she is so happy about school and counts to “six friends” every time we talk about them. And yes, I know she’s only two. But really, I just want to know what she’s doing in school every day and she refuses to tell me anything. Anything at all!
